Short Bio
I've always been a compulsive maker. While I've worked with lots of media over the years, and continue to love drawing, I return clay for its tactile bliss and endless design possibilities. After years working as an arts administrator, I started Two Crow Studio with my husband Rick Hartwig, and now work full-time in our home studio, focusing mainly on functional pieces in stoneware and porcelain.
Statement
I'm inspired by mid-century modern design for its clean, simple beauty and deference to functionality. Mid-century commercial pottery and Pyrex inspire my forms, while textiles and illustrations of the same period inform color and motif choices. My intent is to create modern hand-crafted wares which have visual and tactile appeal. I hope with every use you'll discover subtle nuances of color, texture and form and that each discovery will increase the pleasure of their utility.Biography
